Derek Fisher has signed with the Dallas Mavericks. He is 38 years old.

My Take: An ESPN article called this a 'desperate' signing for the Mavs. I'm not sure I would go that far, but why Fisher would choose this team (assuming he had other offers) is beyond me...

MLB News: B.J. Upton Signs With WHO?

B.J. Upton and the Atlanta Braves have agreed to a five year deal worth up to $75.25 million.

My Take: Good deal. I assume this should end the speculation of Josh Hamilton headed to ATL.

WWE Rumor: Hardy Boyz Reunion?

Matt Hardy recently said that a Hardy Boyz reunion in WWE next year is "very likely."

My Take: Matt is currently a free agent. Jeff Hardy is in TNA Impact Wrestling, but his contract expires in early 2013. It should be interesting to see what happens!

WWE Rumor: Ric Flair Returning?

According to F4W, something has changed in the TNA-WWE lawsuit during the past week. Apparently, Ric Flair could be heading to WWE sooner rather than later.

My Take: WWE refuses to let him wrestle again, after giving him the greatest sendoff of all-time in 2008. Thus, it will be interesting to see what kind of role he gets upon return.

WWE World Title Match Announced

Big Show will defend his World Title against Sheamus at the TLC pay-per-view in three weeks. As teased, it will be a "Chairs Match."

My Take: I could do without the stipulation, but that is the theme of the event. A logical assumption would be that a Ladders, Tables, and/or a TLC match will be added as well.

NFL News: Tim Tebow Injured

Tim Tebow has two fractured ribs. That is why he didn't play last night, despite Mark Sanchez struggling as the Jets quarterback.

My Take: I am not sure I believe this. Apparently, his injury occurred two weeks ago, yet he played last week. Now, he can't play? Something doesn't seem right here...

WWE Diva Kaitlyn Arrested

WWE diva Kaitlyn was arrested at the Smackdown taping last night. She had an unpaid traffic ticket from their last trip in Michigan.

My Take: This seems to have been a minor issue. It was taken care of in a few hours. Let's hope she is not fired over this...

WWE News: John Cena Injury Update

John Cena posted the following on Twitter after getting an MRI om his knee.

"MRI was typical good news bad news scenario. I've dealt with knees issues for the past few yrs, ill add one more to that list.....

My Take: There are conflicting reports on whether this is legitimate or not. In any event, this does add to his current feud with Dolph Ziggler nicely.

NFL News: Alex Smith OUT Tonight

49ers quarterback Alex Smith will not play tonight against the Bears. He has been ruled out after suffering a concussion last week.

My Take: It will be a battle of the "back up" quarterbacks on ESPN. I would predict the Bears to win, but I thought the same last week...

WWE Survivor Series 2012 Change

The pre-show match for WWE Survivor Series has been changed. It was originally Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal vs. Santino Marella and Zack Ryder. Instead, Slater/Mahal will face Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel.

My Take: Nothing major! Just a noted change for the event...

TNA Impact Rating 11/15/12

TNA Impact scored a 1.07 rating last Thursday. The show was a special TAPED episode and drew a better number than their recent summer LIVE episodes.

My Take: No surprise. being taped/live means next to nothing in 2012. The flip side is that next week will be Thanksgiving. I can't imagine numbers going up during the holiday next Thursday.

MLB: Blue Jays Sign Melky Cabrera?

According to ESPNDeportes, the Blue Jays will sign Melky Cabrera to a 2 year/$16 million deal.

My Take: Well, it was clear that his time with the Giants was over. I thought he'd get more money, but this does show that the Jays are FINALLY serious about winning.

MLB Rumor: New Team Wants Josh Hamilton?

According to CBSSports, the Boston Red Sox may try and sign free agent Josh Hamilton.

My Take: I am not sure this is the best fit. We just saw a few big name players struggle in Bean Town and get traded rather quickly. Could Josh and his past demons survive in a similar situation?

WWE Breaks Two Major Records

WWE has announced that their recent on-sale date for WrestleMania 29 tickets broke two records.

The company sold the most amount of tickets in WWE history during just one day - over 52,000 tickets.

Also, they have already earned a $10 million live gate just off first day ticket sales - another WWE record.

My Take: The show will be held at MetLife Stadium on April 7th, 2013. Based on just one day of ticket sales, it is easy to see this being yet another huge night for WWE.

MLB Rookie(s) of the Year Named

Mike Trout (Angels) won the AL Rookie of the Year.

Bryce Harper (Nationals) won the NL Rookie of the Year.

My Take: I am fine with those choices. The true debate will begin when the MLB MVP awards are handed out...

WWE WrestleMania 30 Rumor

WWE is in talks with city officials to hold WrestleMania 30 at the Superdome in New Orleans. Other places talked about were the brand new Dallas Cowboys stadium and Madison Square Garden.

My Take: WWE usually announces the following year's location in January. Thus, time is running out to make a decision for the 2014 event. The 2013 Mania will be held at Metlife Stadium in the NJ/NY area on April 7th.

The problem with holding WM30 in Dallas is that the building is also hosting the NCAA basketball tournament at the nearly same time. It takes weeks to set up the WWE stage, so it'd be bad timing for everyone involved.

As for Madison Square Garden, WWE held WM1, WM10, and WM20 there. While it would hold tradition to have WM30 there as well, Vince McMahon has said he never wants to do another Mania at a "small" arena again. MSG can only hold 20,000 fans, while recent Mania stadiums have filled anywhere from 60-80,000 people. He loves the huge settings where he can fit as many fans as possible for the event.

On Thursday night, TNA Impact Wrestling drew a 1.03 rating. That is their highest number in months.

My Take: Absolutely amazing that this could now be considered "good news" for the company...

WWE WrestleMania 29 Tickets On Sale

WWE WrestleMania 29 tickets go on sale to the public tomorrow morning. There has already been a few select pre-sale offers. The event will be at MetLife Stadium in the New York/New Jersey market on April 7th, 2013.

My Take: The show is expected to seat around 80,000 fans. There is no roof on the stadium, so April weather could be a bit unusual for people attending from out of town.

WWE: JBL Returning To Commentary

JBL is returning full-time to commentary. He signed a new deal with WWE this week.

My Take: Right now, his spot will be on Smackdown. However, JBL may also work pay-per-view shows or occasional special events.

MLB News: Mark McGwire Changes Teams

The Dodgers have announced that Mark Mcgwire is their new hitting coach.

My Take: He lives in California. Plus, there was not much left for him to do with the Cardinals. They had a great season in 2012 and got a ring last year.

WWE: Jack Swagger Has New Look

WWE Superstar Jack Swagger currently has longer hair and a lot more facial hair now than his last appearance. He had been off television for over a month getting a "new gimmick."

My Take: Well, maybe tonight is his big return? I have no idea. Swagger could have used a few character tweaks, so this is nice to see.

NFL: Packers/Cardinals Preview

Honestly, this seems like as easy prediction. Yeah, seems like...

Both teams are headed for a bye week, so there is no advantage there. You'd think being at home favors the Pack, but that is no longer true by today's NFL standards.

Thus, it turns to the talent on the field. On that note, it is not even close. Pack should beat the Cards BIG time come Sunday afternoon. However, that is why you play the games, right?

David Ortiz will stay with the Boston Red Sox on a two year/$26 million deal. FoxSports had reported that the Texas Rangers were also interested.

My Take: Probably for the best.  I don wonder if this is his final contract though...

WWE Smackdown Main Event News

The main event for WWE Smackdown next week will be Randy Orton vs. Alberto Del Rio in a Falls Count Anywhere match. The show is on Tuesday next week.

My Take: This should end their feud. The two are very talented inside the ring, so it will be interesting to see what they can with no rules.
