WWE News: Beth Phoenix Officially Gone

Beth Phoenix finished up with WWE on Monday night Raw. She was "fired" after defeating AJ in a match by Vickie Guerrero.

My Take: There had been rumors of her departure for awhile now. She is the girl friend of WWE Hall of Famer Edge, who is undergoing a neck surgery next month. Obviously, she will now be with him to help recovery. As for her story line send off, it was okay. The follow up left the door open for her to come back down the line, should she want to.

NFL: Packers/Jaguars Recap

Yikes!

A win is a win. The Packers found a way to win at home over the lowly Jags, but it was not very pretty. Once again, Green Bay gets a victory despite playing some "bad" football.

With the Chicago Bears winning, the Packers really NEEDED this win. They got it. Now, the Pack mov eon to play the Arizona Cardinals next Sunday. Should be another win, but you never know...

NFL Sunday: Packers vs. Jaguars Prediction

Honestly, this is not much to discuss.

A few key players are out for both teams. The Packers won't miss them very much. Remember their season two years ago filled with injuries? Yeah.

The Jaguars are banged up, but when are they not? The team is just not very talented as a whole. Of course, they have some solid pieces. Just not enough to defeat the Pack...

Packers 40 Jaguars 10

WWE News: Ryback Comments on CM Punk

Ryback posted the following on Twitter yesterday, concerning his upcoming WWE Title match:

"Shark swimming with dolphins. Sink or Swim. #FeedMePunk"

My Take: Obviously, this is his biggest test to date. Whether he wins the gold or not, a lot of eyes will be on him Sunday night.

WWE Wants New Divas

WWE issued a casting call last week for women looking to join the company. You must be between the
ages of 18 and 30 "with charismatic personalities, beautiful faces and great bodies." Wrestling experience was not mentioned.

My Take: Well, Trish Stratus was "just a model" when she joined WWE. She went on to have a great career and is still remembered as one of the greatest female wrestlers ever.

Lebron James: "Want To Be The Best Of All Time"

During an interview with the Associated Press, Lebron James said the following:

"I want to be the best of all time. It's that simple."

My Take: There you have it. I can't blame the guy for going all in. If your goal is not to be the best, what are you doing in the NBA? Now, Lebron has to go out there and JUST DO IT!

WWE: Top 5 CM Punk vs. Ryback Outcomes

This Sunday, WWE presents the Heck on a Deck pay-per-view, and the main event is a HUGE battle. CM Punk will defend his WWE Title against Ryback. The entire world is buzzing about this match right now. No matter what happens, you can bet your bottom dollar that Punk and Ryback will be trending worldwide on Twitter tomorrow night. Regardless of who walks away as WWE Champion, it will be a night to remember. However, that begs the question:

Since neither man can afford to lose, who DOES end up losing Sunday night?

Well, let's dig through a few options...

1. CM Punk wins clean and retains the title

Does anyone really think this will happen? Yeah, I doubt it. Long shot here. Sorry folks!

2. Ryback "squashes" Punk and wins the title

Honestly, this is not very crazy at all. Do what the man does best - destroy opponents in a dominating fashion. Punk will be just fine, and he is THAT good of a performer to overcome it.

3. Paul Heyman helps Ryback win the title

Remember Survivor Series 2002? Yeah. Heyman was worried that his "guy" Brock Lesnar could not beat the Big Show. What did the slime ball do? He switched sides and helped Show beat Lesnar for the WWE Title. Just a theory folks...

4. Punk wins, due to outside interference

This is the popular stance online. Big Show will screw Ryback. Brock Lesnar will screw Ryback. Batista will screw Ryback. Bill Goldberg will screw Ryback. Antonio Cesaro will screw Ryback. John Cena will screw Ryback. Ms. Vickie Guerrero/Dolph Ziggler will screw Ryback. An army of "Heyman guys" will screw Ryback.  You get the idea - somehow, someway Punk gives Ryback his first loss and keeps the WWE Title through a screw job. Very, very interesting ideas here...

5. No contest

Honestly, I have no idea how you do this inside the steel structure. The entire purpose is to give fans a WINNER! That is the the whole reason for doing a cell match. However, EVERYBODY knows that WWE is up against a wall here. Ryback losing on Sunday? Ouch. Punk losing his WWE Title now? Ouch. This really is a near impossible scenario for the company to get out of. I know it is VERY risky, but a draw/no contest ending may be an option. Maybe Punk runs out of the arena? How about Ryback wins, but Vickie reverses the decision later on due to some cheap technicality? Perhaps Ryback throws somebody THROUGH the cell and it all collapses on top of the participants? Could WWE create such a spectacular scene? I have no idea. Never say never...

Update on CM Punk - Phone Interview Incident

The audio of a CM Punk interview on the Rover Morning Glory Show has been released. While Punk did dodge the question about his "fan attack," he did finish up. Here is the link:

http://soundcloud.com/chrystel-barron/cm-punk-on-rovers-morning

My Take: You could tell that Punk was annoyed over the line of questioning here. However, he kept it together as well as he could. Still an awkward exchange.

NFL Great LT Wins Teen Sex Case

NFL Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor celebrated today. The jury in U.S. District Court in Manhattan only deliberated for an hour today, before siding with the football great.

There was a four day trial in which he said he had sex with a prostitute in 2010. He said she had told him she was 19 but was actually 16. There are other details, but that is the most of it.

My Take: Feel free to read up on the other stories. In the end, LT walks away...

NFL News: Vikes Chris Cook Breaks Arm

Minnesota Vikings corner back Chris Cook has suffered a broken arm. He will need 7-8 weeks to recover, so there is a slight chance he returns this NFL season.

My Take: The Vikes will need all the help they can get going forward. The NFC North division is only going to get much tougher.

WWE/ABC Family Announce New Movie

The Miz will star in a new WWE Studio/ABC Family television movie set for a December 2013 release as part of their annual "25 Days of Christmas" format.

My Take: This is a nice role for The Miz. It is usually watched by a lot of people and furthers the "family friendly" image of WWE.

Zack Ryder - Egypt Show

This week's Zack Ryder Youtube show takes place from Egypt. He has been teasing the "finale" of the series nearly every single wee now.

My Take: I think most fans have grown tired of his antics online. They were fun last year, but it grew stale. Being in Egypt was fun, but it will not make the show interesting again...

TNA Impact Rating Notes

According to PWTorch, TNA Impact drew a 0.97 rating with 1.18 million viewers. That is down slightly from last week's post-Bound for Glory show.

Impact tied with the June 28th edition for a year low in m18-24.

My Take: There is not much good news here for TNA. Being live has NOT helped at all nor throwing away title matches with former WWE stars. Everything else is on the show's bland product in recent months.

WWE HIAC - Ryback/CM Punk Finish Changing

According to the Wrestling Observer, the finish to CM Punk vs. Ryback for the WWE Championship is changing on a daily basis.

My Take: This is a HUGE match for the company and everybody involved. WWE has to get this right heading into 2013.

TNA Impact Rating Drops Again

The TNA Impact Wrestling television rating was a 0.97 with just over 1.1 million viewers.

My Take: Ouch! As usual, all the "big matches" in TNA mean nothing. For those wondering, the 30 minute WWE Saturday Morning Slam show with mid-card comedy wrestlers drew more viewers than TNA Impact.

TNA Tag Team Title Match Announced

Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez will defend the TNA tag team titles against Daniels and Kaz at the Turning Point pay-per-view next month.

My Take: No issues here. That was the next step in the tag team division. I am not a fan of the current champs, but going right back to Daniels/Kaz may be pointless.

NFL News: Redskins Cut Ryan Grant

The Washington Redskins have released RB Ryan Grant.

My Take: Last I checked, the Green Bay Packers would be a perfect fit for him. However, the team had a chance to bring him back months ago and didn't. I am curious to see if the Pack have a different idea now that THEIR running back in Cedric Benson is injured.

CM Punk Wanted Samoa Joe on WWE DVD

During a recent interview with Slam Magazine, CM Punk commented on his WWE DVD:

"There was one rule about my DVD, it was everybody had to be 100% honest. The only thing I wish I could have, I don't know if done differently is the word ... the only thing missing from my DVD is a sit-down interview with Samoa Joe. That obviously couldn't happen because he works for a different company."

My Take: Well, I wonder if HE is the one pushing for WWE to sign Joe. It would certainly make sense. Too bad he couldn't appear on the DVD though...

New HIAC Match To Be Added?

According to WrestleZone.com, Rey Mysterio/Sin Cara vs. The Prime Time Players may be added to the pay-per-view this Sunday night.

My Take: As always, this "source" is extremely hit or miss. However, I wouldn't mind this match being added.

Eric Bischoff Makes TNA Impact Change

According to PWinsider, Eric Bischoff was the one to make the call to freshen up the announce team last night on TNA Impact.

My Take: It was the right move. You can tell the difference right away, and it was a GOOD!

Kristal To Bobby Lashley: "Pay Child Support"

Kristal Marshall posted the following on Twitter to Bobby Lashley:

@fightbobby Taking pictures with ur kids and posting them doesn't make u a good dad. Pay child support. Would be a good start.

My Take: Uh oh! That is never a good sign...I wish the two well going forward.

WWE Rumor: Interest In Samoa Joe?

From WrestleNewz.com:

Because he’s currently signed to TNA, there is quiet talk within one WWE inner circle about trying to bring Samoa Joe in.
My Take: This story pops up every few months. I doubt there is much validity there. However, it is worth noting in case something comes up in the near future.

Dwight Howard Wanted Nets Trade

Dwight Howard spoke to Stephen A. Smith and Ryan Ruocco on ESPN New York 98.7 FM about his desire to play for the Nets.

“I did want to go to Brooklyn. That’s a place where I told the Magic that I really wanted to go, I was traded to the Lakers, and I think it was a blessing in disguise."

My Take: Well, he is a free agent after this season. Smart money has him simply staying on the Lakers, but you never know.

NFL News: Rashard Mendenhall Out Sunday

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Rashard Mendenhall won't play on Sunday versus the Washington Redskins. he will rest his sore Achilles.

My Take: The injuries keep piling up for the Steelers. Could be a tough game this weekend...

NHL Cancels Even More Games

The NHL has announced that all regular season games through November have been canceled

My Take: Not good folks. Not good...

NFL News: Peyton Manning Buys WHAT?

The Associated Press has reported that Peyton Manning purchased 21 Papa John franchises in the Denver area. Obviously, he has been appearing in commercials for the pizza company.

My Take: I thought he would have bought a few. However, Peyton went for 21 pizza places? That seems like a lot in one city...

TNA Gut Check Contestant Named

On next Thursday's edition of TNA Impact, Christian York will be the Gut Check contestant.

My Take: I am not a fan of this "reality television" stuff on wrestling shows, but good luck to the guy next week!

WWE Wrestler Switches Brands

The Big Show is now listed on the Smackdown roster. He had been appearing on both WWE Raw and Smackdown as of this past week.

My Take: Does anybody still care? The brand extension all but ended years ago.

TNA Rejected Mike Graham

According to F4W, Mike Graham asked for a job on the TNA creative writing staff two months ago and was instantly rejected. On October 18th, he committed suicide.

My Take: Such a sad story all around...

WWE News on Ryback/CM Punk Finish

According to F4Wonline, WWE has decided on a finish for the WWE Championship match between CM Punk and Ryback this Sunday. However, it could still change.

My Take: I can't remember the last MAJOR WWE match to take place in October. Maybe it is just me? The intrigue builds even more...

WWE - Bret Hart Update

According to F4Wonline, the new WWE DVD will feature matches from the old Stampede tape library that is in Bret Hart's possession.

My Take: Should be a cool set for old school fans...

WWE Rumor: Tag Team Idea Nixed

According to F4Wonline, Justin Gabriel is in line for a singles push. That would mean his tag team with Tyson Kidd is over. There was talk of pairing Kidd and Evan Bourne up when he returns.

My Take: A Bourne-Kidd tag team? That would be okay. As for Justin, I wish him well, as he deserves a shot to shine as a solo wrestler.

WWE Spoiler on Ryback vs. CM Punk?

According to advertisements, Ryback is being build as "Undefeated" for future shows.

My Take: As always, take these ads with a HUGE grain of salt. Some have CM Punk listed as WWE Champion. Now, one has Ryback still being undefeated. In the end, they will mean nothing. In any event, CM Punk vs. Ryback for the WWE Title is a must see match.

What Does CM Punk Have Left To Do?

During an interview with Slam Magazine, WWE Champion CM Punk said all he has left to do is a WrestleMania main event.

My Take: He is right. Outside of that, Punk has nothing left to do in this business. I doubt he reaches that goal this April, but it is always worth going for...

WWE News: Mick Foley Gives Ryback Advice

WWE.com has an article with Mick Foley giving some advice to Ryback before this Sunday night. Given the history of the steel structure, it makes sense. Here is one quote:

"Let it all hang out. If there was ever a time not to hold anything back, it is in this match."

My Take: This was story line driven, but I liked it. A lot of anticipation is building up for this Sunday night, so all the hype and build should be worth it.

Goldberg Continues To Bash Ryback

Bill Goldberg continues to re-tweet Twitter messages either bashing Ryback or insulting him.

My Twitter: There were rumors of a Goldberg-WWE Legends deal a few weeks ago. I don't know if he is "working" with the company here, but it is intriguing. Obviously, the comparisons between Ryback and Goldberg are there.

WWE WrestleMania 29 Dream Matches

WWE.com recently did an article looking at dream matches for WrestleMania 29.

The Rock and Mick Foley vs. Kane and Daniel Bryan
CM Punk vs. Brock Lesnar
Ryback vs. John Cena
AJ Lee vs. Trish Stratus
Undertaker vs. Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels

My Take: Well, the only one I see happening is AJ vs. Trish. Outside of that, they are definitely reaching for "dream" matches there. Still a fun article.

TNA Turning Point Main Event

Jeff Hardy vs. Austin Aries for the TNA Title has been announcer for Turning Point next month.

My Take: That is a logical choice. I doubt the title changes, but never say never...

Two Big TNA Impact Matches Announcers

Next week on TNA Impact Wrestling:

ODB vs. Jesse Godderz

Bully Ray vs. Devon

My Take: The brother vs. brother battle was teased. However, I am not sure if it is official. On the other hand, girl vs. guy matches in TNA usually are comedic...

TNA Debuts New Announcer

Last night on Impact, Todd Keneley worked as the co-host of the first hour with Jeremy Borash.

My Take: He has some experience, so this is definitely in his element. Based on my first impressions, I liked him on commentary.

WWE: How Old Is CM Punk?

WWE Champion CM Punk will turn 34 years old on Friday.

My Take: I think a lot of fans may be shocked by that number. Punk is a little bit older than most probably suspect. In any event, happy birthday to the champ!

Matt Hardy Speaks on WWE Issues

Matt Hardy spoke with Kayfabe Wrestling Radio and said the following about three hour Raw shows:

“In my opinion, and I know a lot of people said this, three hours is just too long. It was a really nod for the RAW 1000 episode. Past that, from what we’ve seen, three hours is just a little too long for them, especially considering how many first run shows they do a week, three hours is a long time to try and keep a viewer’s attention, especially in 2012.”

My Take: Hardy is right on here. I have been against Raw moving to three hours from the beginning. It is like beating a dead horse at this point though...

NBA News: Delonte West Done In Dallas

According to ESPNDallas, Delonte West will not return to the Mavericks. He was previously  suspended on Thursday for conduct detrimental to the team.

MLB Rumor: Brewers To Pursue Josh Hamilton

According to Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com, the Milwaukee Brewers may be seriously thinking about making a run for Josh Hamilton.

My Take: I can't imagine what it will cost Milwaukee to get such a star. However, you have to wonder what kind of interest will be out there for the baseball player due to his age and other obvious past issues. Clearly, teams will want him, but his asking price will tell the real story.

Honey Badger Tyrann Mathieu Arrested

Tyrann Mathieu was arrested, along with three other former team mates, Thursday for marijuana possession.

My Take: Ouch! That is one serious down fall. Let's hope this story has a happy ending eventually down the line...

MLB Rumor: Mariano Rivera To Retire?

ESPN New York is saying that legendary New York Yankees reliever Mariano Rivera is having second thoughts about retirement. However, it is noted that his 2013 return is still probable.

My Take: He will turn 43 next months, so you can never count anything out. I think he will comeback for another year or two, but the final decision is his.

TNA Impact Wrestling Preview 10/25/12

For the first time in over a month, I will be watching TNA Impact tonight live on Spike TV. To their credit, it does seem like a stacked show.

Jeff Hardy will defend his TNA Title. His challenger will be hand picked by Hulk Hogan. Honestly, I can't see anybody but Bully Ray even having a CHANCE at winning. Thus, it may become pointless in the end.

RVD will defend his X-Division Title against Zema Ion. I doubt the belt changes hands here, after we just saw this battle last Sunday.

Finally, Tara will defend her Knockouts Title against Miss Tessmacher. The entire division of girls over on TNA Impact are not capturing my attention. May be time to try a new direction...

As you can see, you have a big main event. Plus, a couple title rematches from Bound for Glory will round out their show. Obviously, there will be much more, but that is what has been announced thus far. All in all, I am giving them a chance tonight.

NFL News: Greg Jennings To Have Surgery

Gren Jennings will have surgery on his groin next Tuesday. He did give a time table for a return but noted that his season was not ending. Greg already has missed an extended period of time this season.

According to the New York Knicks, Tyson Chandler suffered a left knee bruise. He is day to day.

My Take: Uh oh! I don't think this team wants any injuries right now.

My Take: He was a good character. I expect him back at some point, on screen or off.

Update on Former World Champion Returning

There continues to be talk that Ric Flair may be returning to WWE this Monday night. With the ongoing TNA/WWE lawsuit, it was thought that the company had to hold off on bringing him back.

My Take: The character was funny. However, they did beat a dead horse with so many segments.

The Raw main event from Monday featuring Sheamus vs. CM Punk gained 1,058,000 viewers from the previous segment. The overrun ended on a 2.9 quarter hour.

WWE Saturday Morning Slam Impresses

WWE Saturday Morning Slam drew over 1.24 million viewers on October 13th. That is their biggest audience to date and considered a huge success.

WWE Rumor: Mark Henry Return

My Take: We have heard this update for months now. The fact is he has to be healthy in order to come back. If not, the big man should just hang up the boots.

Rey Mysterio - Cruiserweight Division Return?

During an interview with ESPN, Rey Mysterio discussed the cruiserweight division returning.

"I would love to see it reinstated. That division was a division that got me noticed by the fans."

My Take: I don't know. It was fun for a few talents, but it never worked as a full division in WWE.

WWE News on Ryback

Ryback is officially listed as a member for the Raw Brand. He had debuted on Smackdown and was appearing on both shows.

My Take: Honestly, it shouldn't matter very much. He is a beast no matter where he is...

Rey Mysterio Discusses Retirement

Rey Mysterio recently had an interview with ESPN. Here is what he said about a possible retirement:

"As long as I can go. I'm a person that just relies on faith and God's will. He will eventually tell me when it's time."

My Take: He had mentioned 2014 as a potential year to retire in the past. My guess is he can't wrestle for another five years, so his time is coming soon...

My Take: Their partnership continues to work well.

Upcoming WWE Raw Event Moved

The company does prohibit videos taken at live event but usually do not try and take down fan videos. Obviously, the clip painted Ryback in a "human" light, so they had it removed from Youtube.

MLB World Series Game 1 Recap

Well, so much for the Tigers winning...

Another nice pick by yours truly! Clearly, they were not the victors tonight. This entire night belonged to the home team Giants.

When you got guys hitting three home runs in a game and pitchers working fabulously, there is not a whole lot you can do. Sadly, the Tigers made a later run...but it was way too late.

Giants take a 1-0 lead in the World Series and looked dominant.

I'm happy to keep King's chair warm until the doctor's say that he can resume weekly travel, etc. to broadcast Raw on Monday nights. Jerry's feeling great and seems to improve daily. He's relaxing and enjoying life. Every time I think of his heart attack, I think of just how lucky Jerry is to be alive and that if he hadn't been where he was when the attack occurred that he would likely have died."

Visit his JR's website for the full blog.

What John Cena Is Doing On Sunday

As noted early, WWE Raw takes place from Charlotte, North Carolina this Monday night. Many reports have Ric Flair returning to the company at any time now, maybe as early as next week in his hometown.

It will be very interesting to see what happens here. Not only will this carry story line ramifications, but it could mean A LOT for the current court case.

MLB World Series Preview: SF vs. DET

Honestly, my MLB picks have been way off this entire season. I am not going to sugar coat it one bit. They have been downright awful.

However, there is ONE series left...and it's the big one. We have the Detroit Tigers facing the San Fancisco Giants in the MLB World Series in a best of seven format. Home field belongs to San Fran, as the National League beat the Americn League in the All Star Game months ago.

As for the ultimate winner:

Why should I even pick? I think I correctly nailed one or two games all year, so my word does not count for much with baseball. Oh well, my prediction goes to...

Tigers in 6

WWE News: AJ Resigns As RAW GM

Tonight on WWE Raw, AJ resigned as General Manager. Vickie Guerrero was put in charge for the time being, but it seemed like only a temporary move.

This was expected. AJ has not worked as RAW GM, and it showed right from the start. It was fun for awhile, but that could not last.

NFL Week 7: CHI/DET Recap

Just like the MLB game, it was over before it even began.

The Bears defeated the Lions 13-7 Monday night. While both teams had issues, it was always a one-sided battle. Disappointing night for both major sports...

If there is any take away from the night, it is that Jay Cutler looked to injury his shoulder taking a hard sack. before the first half. He came out for awhile and headed to the locker room a minute before halftime. It did not look to be serious though, as he just got his ribs checked out.

Believe what you will. In any event, the Bears win once again. Detroit may be done for the season, and keep an eye out for Cutler's status going forward...

NLCS Game 7: Giants Defeat Cardinals

Well, it was not even close.

The Giants were down 3-1 in the NLCS before winning three straight games. Now, the Cardinals go home while the Tigers will travel to San Francisco for the World Series.

The Cards got a taste of their own medicine here. Usually, they are the club making miraculous comebacks in the MLB. Not this time - the Giants stand tall here.

The only side note is that it started to RAIN big time during the final 10 minutes. With the score being 9-0 and a series ready to end, the umpires just let it go. The entire field was drenched, but under these circumstances - it was understandable to try and finish the game as soon as possible.

NFL: Woodson Out 6 Weeks

Jay Glazer is reporting that Charles Woodson will be out six weeks after breaking his collarbone.

Tough break for the Packers!

Hulk Hogan Sex Tape Update 10/22/12

PWinsider reports the following news. For the full story, visit their website.

United States District Judge James Whittemore has shot down Hulk Hogan's request for a preliminary injunction against website Gawker.com and other "associated defendants" to force the website to remove the one minute clip of Hogan's sex tape with Heather Clem. Judge Whittemore ruled that Hogan "failed to show that immediate and irreparable injury, loss or damage" would take place if the material was not removed.

A hearing on the injunction has been set for 11/8 in Tampa where all sides will argue over the motion and the Judge can make his final ruling. It will not be open to the public.

Again, this comes from PWInsider. At this point, you have to assume Hogan got his "15 minutes" of fame, got his publicity, got his name out in the media, and will now fade into the background once again.,

NFL Week 7: CHI/DET Preview

Just a reminder: My Super Bowl prediction is Broncos vs. Bears next February.

Thus, this should be an easy pick tonight. The Detroit Lions are facing the Chicago Bears in a big division match. If DET loses, you can seal the deal on their season - it is over.

If the Bears win, they are right there with the NFC North leaders - Minnesota Vikings. Plus, the Green Bay Packers are right behind them.

While I expect a nice back and forth contest, Bears should win. They have too much talent to lay an egg on the grand stage. It may have happened before, but won't tonight on ESPN.

Lions 20 Bears 35

NLCS Game 7: STL/SF Preview

Well, it has been awhile. For the first time in years, the NLCS will go to a final and deciding game seven. What a battle it should be!

When the series began, I predicted a victory for the Cardinals. As it wore on, my pick looked good. The few days are a totally different story.

The Giants have the same mentality of the Cards - never say die. Thus, you had to expect a full series of these tow teams scratching and clawing to the World Series where the Detroit Tigers wait.

In the end, it all comes down to tonight. Usually, the home team is the favorable pick (SF). However, STL just thrives in these elimination games. Smart or not, I will ride with St. Louis one more time...

Get ready Tigers...

NFL Rumor: Chargers Cheating?

Jay Glazer is reporting this news. The NFL is investigating whther or not the San Diego Chargers used an illegally banned "stick-em" type substance during their Monday night game versus the Denver Broncos.

Well, they blew a 24-0 lead and ended up losing. I wonder when they were using this - before halftime or after halftime. In any event, let's see where this all goes and when/if punishments are handed down.

Honey Boo Boo Wrestling?

Honey Boo Boo and her family are apparently huge wrestling fans. James Pittaro, owner of the D2W Pro Wrestling Academy in New Jersey is offering to bring her and a family member in for training.

Oh my! I can't even offer up a response for a little girl and her mother (whoever else) trying to wrestle inside a squared circle. Making a cameo or short appearance is one thing - getting physical is another story.

Good move, if true. They will need all they help available...

Lance Armstrong Continues Downfall

Lance Armstrong was officially stripped of his 7 Tour De France titles and banned for life.

Ouch! All that is left is a tell all book and a TV interview with him admitting his guilt with tears streaming down his face...

Joey Styles Interview Highlights

Well known wrestling commentator Joey Styles was interviewed by Arda Ocal of The Score Television Network and Baltimore Sun recently. A few highlights are as follows:

- He said he would never call pro wrestling again

- CM Punk would have been champion in the original ECW

- Much, much more! Check it out.

WWE Raw Preview 10/22/12

Big Show vs. Kane - should be a quick battle of the big men. I expect interference towards the end, but Show would be the likely option to win.

Rey Mysterio/Sin Cara vs. Cody Rhodes/Damien Sandow - The winners face Daniel Bryan and Kane this Sunday for the WWE Tag Titles. The logical choice would be the heels here...Rhodes and Sandow.

Finally, this is is the go-home show for HIAC this weekend. I suspect a ton of Ryback - CM Punk hype with a tease of John Cena being involved. WWE has a huge story line going and can't afford to mess anything up just six days away from the PPV.

With Raw being held in New Jersey, it should be a loud, enthusiastic crowd.

WWE PPV Update

According to F4Wonline, only Ryback vs. CM Punk at HIAC will take place inside the steel structure. Of course, that match is for the WWE Championship.

WWE News: New Bret Hart DVD?

Bret Hart teased on Twitter that a WWE crew was coming to visit his home. A DVD may be released including some rare and unseen matches.

NFL: Packers vs. Rams Recap

I was so close!

Instead of a 30-23 victory for the Packers, it was a 30-20 victory. Oh well, it was a good game...just as I suspected it would be.

Obviously, Green Bay was in control for most of the day. However, it was never a blowout or clear cut victory from either side. Kudos to the Rams for keeping it up throughout...

TNA Knockout Sarita said one of her goals was to fight in WWE. This was from a published interview with ESPNDeportes. She has not been seen on Impact in six months.

NFL Week 7: Packers/Rams Prediction

Well, my pre-season prediction was a 2-2 start for the Green Bay Packers. That worked out for me.

After that, it has been a little shaky.

Today, I sense another tough game for the Pack...but a win. The Rams are 3-3, just like Green Bay. Plus, both teams are NOT who we thought they were.

In any event, expect a good battle.

Packer 30 Rams 23

WWE: Who Will Win Ryback/CM Punk?

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that WWE is having a hard time coming up with a finish for the Ryback vs. CM Punk WWE Title match next Sunday.

WWE wants Ryback to remain undefeated, but also would prefer Punk keeps his title. Also, they do not want to deliver a "screwjob" ending. It looks like something will have to give.

Wow! They got themselves into a mess, no doubt.

NLCS Game 5: Giants vs. Cardinals Recap

We are going to a NLCS Game 6 folks!

The Giants won 5-0 and beat the Cardinals to stay alive. The series will now head back to San Francisco (Giants home field) for the rest of the series.

On the flip side, Cards are winning the best of seven series 3-2 right now. That means the Giants MUST continue this momentum and win the remaining game(s). Best of luck to both teams!

TNA Impact Rating Disappoints

The TNA Impact rating is in!

According to PWTorch, the show drew 1.2 million viewers for a 1.0 rating. That is down BIG TIME from the 2010-2011 post-Bound for Glory shows that drew around 2 million viewers.

Ouch! Nearly half of their audience has left since last October. I know some want to give the "new direction" some time, but numbers have just plummeted. On top of that, they are now live, which seems to mean absolutely nothing to viewers.

Next week, TNA is promoting two big title matches. There is hope for a nice number there. After that though? The same problems will still exist...

TNA BFG 2012 Bombs In Theaters

According to the Wrestler Observer, it is estimated that between 500 and 1,000 people nationwide attended the 100 theater showings altogether for TNA Bound for Glory 2012.

No big shock. Plenty of fan reports always say the TNA theater airings have very few fans there. Also, their live event business speaks for itself. Just very difficult for TNA to find PAYING customers, instead of people watching their product online or on television for free.

NHL Cancels Regular Season Games

NHL has announced that the regular season will be canceled through November.

No surprise. There continues to be drama, thus that means no hockey. Eventually, you have to think a deal will be worked...

MLB: A-Rod Comments on Trade Rumors

Alex Rodriguez says he plans to return to the Yankees next season. Of course, there has been plenty of speculation about his future.

I don't know. He does have a no-trade clause, so he has the final say in any deal, but the way things ended? Ouch! It is going to be a very tricky (and pricey) situation for A-Rod and the Yanks...

NBA News: Dwight Howard Returning

According to Yahoo Sports, Dwight Howard could play this Sunday for the Lakers.

He is coming off back surgery. I am more interested in seeing the dynamic he brings on the court for LA.

WWE Films: CM Punk and Eve?

According to PWinsider, WWE wants CM Punk and Eve to film separate films. However, the company doesn't want Punk off the road. Eve has teased her own role in recent interviews.

Punk would be intriguing. I don't have much interest in seeing Eve acting for a WWE film.

WWE: The Rock News

Men's Health has listed The Rock as the 46th fittest men of all time.

Congrats!

WWE News: IC Title Match Set

Kofi Kingston will defend his Intercontinental Title against The Miz on pay-per-view next Sunday night.

Should be a good match.

WWE: Sheamus Wants Undertaker at WM

Sheamus spoke to the Fayetteville Observer recently. His major quote was wanting to wrestle (and defeat) Undertaker at WrestleMania.

He has been saying this for the past few years. Honestly, I can't blame him. Outside of title matches, there is not bigger stage than Mania versus Taker.

WWE News: Undertaker Returning?

According to PWInsider.com, Undertaker wrestling at WWE WrestleMania 29 is all up to him. If he does not want to work an full match/story line for Mania, he could just work the Royal Rumble in January.

I expect Taker to wrestle (and win) at Mania. An appearance at the Rumble would be a nice treat though.

Honey Boo Boo To WWE?

According to PWinsider, WWE is interested in Alana Thompson - the 7 year old Honey Boo Boo child star - for WrestleMania 29 next spring.

The company loves to use celebrities for their big events. However, with Mania being in NY/NJ next year - wouldn't the Jersey Shore cast make more sense?

WWE: Final Beth Phoenix Match?

Beth Phoenix wrestles Kaitlyn for today's episode of WWE Superstars. It is speculated to be her last WWE match for the time being.

I think she got her big "farewell" on Smackdown a few weeks ago versus Natalya. It will be interesting to see what happens next...

NBA News: Dirk Nowitzky Out 6 Weeks

The Dallas Mavericks announced today that Dirk Nowitzky will miss the next six games after knee surgery. The NBA season begins in about two weeks.

NFL Rumor: Michael Vick's Future

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer , Michael Vick is safe as Eagles starting quarterback...for now. Of course, if he continues to struggle, a change may be needed.

I think Vick lasts through this season - just like (maybe) Mark Sanchez of the Jets. However, their futures after 2013-2013 are up in the air...

NFL: 49ers Defeat Seahawks

Honestly, I expected a low scoring game. However, this was just disappointing.

Where was this new and improved Alex Smith?

What happened to Russell Wilson?

The 49ers held up home field advantage and won a close game. For that, you have to give them credit. On the flip side, both teams still a possible NFL Playoff threats.

TNA Title Match Next Week!

Jeff Hardy will defend his TNA Championship next week on Impact. Hulk Hogan will pick his challenger.

This is a part of the "Championship Thursday" format.

This is a part of "Championship Thursday."

MLB News: Tigers Advance to World Series

The Detroit Tigers have swept the New York Yankees in the ALCS. They now advance to the World Series and will face the winner of the NLCS (Cardinals or Giants).

On that same note, the Yankees go home. It will be a VERY interesting off season for them...

MLB Interest in A-Rod Trade

According to a report by CBSSports (Jon Heyman), the Marlins and Dodgers seem to little or no interest in Alex Rodriguez. There has been rumors of A-Rod leaving the Yankees imminently.

Teams can say that NOW all they want. When you get a chance to pick up A-Rod (old or not), you will take it. The Marlins still remain the favorites in my mind, despite what they say.

NFL News: Andy Reid's Son Overdosed

In some sad news, Garrett Reid died from an accidental heroin overdose on August 5th, a coroner said Thursday. Of course, he is the son of Eagles head coach Andy Reid.

TNA Rumor: Devon Returning Update

According to the Wrestling Observer, Devon coming back to TNA was brought up a few weeks ago. He legitimately left the company over a month ago but has since returned.

There is still tons of confusion surrounding Devon. Why did he leave, only to come back? Was that the original plan? When was he inserted into the Aces and Eights group? How will the story line go now that we have a "name" connected to the stable? Most importantly, does anyone still care?

TNA Bound For Glory 2012 Attendance

According to the Wrestling Observer, TNA Bound for Glory drew 2,900 fans on Sunday. The show was held in Phoenix, Arizona - a new area for the company.

I did not see the show. Thus, my comments on the show and/attendance wouldn't be very credible.

NFL Report: Terrell Suggs Wants To Play

According to a report from ESPN, Terrell Suggs of the Ravens expects to play Sunday versus the Texans. He tore his Achilles five months ago.

Yikes! That is quick recovery. I would worry if he is 100 percent or not. In any event, if Suggs wants to play, he will play!

MLB: A-Rod Benched Again

Despite the rain out, Alex Rodriguez is not in today's ALCS Game 4 lineup against the Tigers for the Yankees. There continues to be rumors of his impending departure from the organization this off-season.

I thought MAYBE, just maybe, he would play today after all the drama from Wednesday. However, it doesn't look to be the case.

NFL Rumor: Tebow To Running Back?

Jets coach Rex Ryan is now hinting that Tim Tebow could play running back for the team.

Wow! The circus continues...

MLB News: Albert Pujols Surgery

According to the St. Louis Post Dispatch, Angels first baseman Albert Pujols underwent minor knee surgery. He should be ready to go by spring training.

Uh oh! Now that he has his HUGE contract, let's hope this is not a sign of things to come and he remains healthy for another 5-10 years. Best of luck!

WWE Raw Ratings News

WWE Raw drew a 2.8 rating on Monday night. The segment by segment breakdown showed the usual "ups and downs" during the three hours. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the following news bite is the most interesting.

The high point came during the final segment/overrun with Ryback, CM Punk, Paul Heyman, John Cena, and Vince McMahon. It drew a 3.1 rating and gained over 760,000 viewers from the previous segment.

As expected, the big names brought in the fans. The number always rises to close the show, as viewers are programmed to know that is when the "big stuff" usually happens.

WWE News: Former World Champion Returns

The Great Khali is back with WWE.

He had been out for the past few months.

WWE: The Rock vs. CM Punk Update

According to the WON, CM Punk vs. The Rock for the WWE Title is still scheudled for the Royal Rumble in January. Despite all the recent changes and speculation, Rock will headline the Rumble and WrestleMania 29 in April.

This is good. Rocky is not just "another wrestler" that would be okay with plans changing on him. Rocky is coming back specifically for only a few big matches per year - nothing is changing that.

NBA Rumor: Lebron James to Lakers?

There is a story on ESPN.com right now where NBA executives believe the Lakers are setting up to make a run at Lebron James in two years. Of course, that would be the final year of Kobe Bryant's contract (and maybe even career).

This seems crazy at first. However, how many people thought the Heat could sign James, Chris Bosh, and Dwayne Wade all in one week?

WWE - Paul Heyman Rumor

According to F4Wonline, Paul Heyman will work all television tapings, pay-per-view events, and some live events for WWE.

Of course, where Heyman goes, CM Punk is likely close by...

Backstage WWE News on Ryback

The decision to make Ryback vs. CM Punk for the WWE Title was made Monday afternoon, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

No surprise here. John Cena and his health were the number one priority. Once he was unable to compete, Ryback was next in line.

Tigers are currently up in the series 3-0...

MLB Rumor: A-Rod Traded To Miami?

Keith Olbermann dropped a bombshell on Twitter today. Apparently, the New York Yankees have discussed trading Alex Rodriguez to the Miami Marlins.

This gained some traction throughout the day and continues to snow ball. Honestly, I can't imagine him coming back to the Yanks after being benched for the past week.

NFL QB Controversy In KC

Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel said the following about who is the team's starting quarterback:

"What I told them is I'm rotating the quarterbacks. They will get equal reps,"

Uh oh! Of course, he is referring to Brady Quinn and Matt Cassel. The Chiefs needed a spark, so maybe this will help?

NBA Rumor: No Jersey Ads

According to Uni Watch, the NBA and its owners have nixed plans to feature advertising on jerseys.

I think this will eventually happen. It is good to see it being shot down for now though...

Lance Armstrong Steps Down

Lance Armstrong has stepped down as chairman of the Livestrong charity.

As more and more evidence points to his past doping allegations, this was probably inevitable. We will see what he (or other sponsors) does next.

Nike - Lance Armstrong Sever Ties

Nike has ended its relationship with Lance Armstrong after even more very strong evidence points to him doping during his cycling career.

They will continue to support Livestrong though.

WWE Survivor Series Rumor

According to PWinsider, WWE recently threw around the idea of having Survivor Series elimination matches take up the entire card. However, that was nixed.

I hope there are some one on one matches. I understand the theme of the event, but ALL elimination tag matches? Sorry, this is 2012.

WWE Television Ratings Surprise

WWE Main Event earned 1.33 million viewers last week, down slightly from the premiere two weeks ago.

WWE Saturday Morning Slam drew 1.24 million viewers, up big time from the weeks before.

It seems like Main Event will settle into a nice "zone" on Wednesday nights. Interestingly enough, SMS has increased by quite a bit over the past month.

WWE Raw Rating Released

WWE Raw delivered the same number as last week - 2.8 rating. As expected, the third hour lost viewers as the show went on.

The Red Brand continues to struggle since moving to a three hour format. Despite the extra revenue they are receiving, it is not a good long-term plan.

WWE Crowns New Champion

WWE has spoiled its own program.

They announced that Kofi Kingston defeated The Miz for the Intercontinental Title at Tuesday's WWE Main Event taping. The show will air Wednesday night on ION Television.

Interesting. I have no problem with the decision, but spoiling the result? Come on man!

ALCS Game 3: Tigers Shock The Yankees

You had to know Justin Verlander was going to lead the Tigers to victory. However, I don't think many thought it would be so easy.

With or without Alex Rodriguez, the Yankees just have not been able to hit the ball. Once again, they offered next to no run support and lost.

The Detroit Tigers are now within one game of sweeping the Yanks and heading to the World Series. It would be a crushing way for New York to go out, but it seems inevitable at this point.

WWE - Rolling Stones Update

A note from Lords of Pain: WWE has been wanting to sell their ability to put on non-wrestling live events for some time but Rolling Stones concert promoters actually contacted WWE about the new deal.

Well, we will see how well this goes. Since the Rolling Stones contacted WWE, I am curious to know if any other musical acts may do the same down the road.

Thus reeks of a "scapegoat" situation in Philly. However, that is just my opinion...

NFL News: Mike Holmgren Leaving Browns

Blah. I enjoy the "older" acts much more.

No surprise here. It is the entire format of the event. It is interesting that Punk is teased though...

NFL: Broncos Rally Back To Defeat Chargers

Well, my Broncos prediction was looking pretty foolish there for awhile.

The Chargers jumped out to a 24-0 early lead. However, you always have a chance to win with Peyton Manning. The Broncos have battled back all year, so this was not exactly shocking.

Denver exploded in the second half. Their defense stepped up and got some interceptions. The offense began to click. Plus, a few referee calls fell their way. All in all, the momentum had turned, and there was no looking back.

Absolutely huge second half collapse by the Chargers here - no way to spin this, at home nonetheless. Broncos pick up a big division win and cap off a memorable Monday Night Football game.

WWE Raw Matches Announced - HUGE!

Kane vs. Big Show was teased for next week's WWE Raw.

WWE officially hyped Sin Cara and Rey Mysterio vs. Rhodes Scholars next week. The winners face Daniel Bryan and Kane at the October pay-per-view for the tag team titles.

Hulk Hogan - $100 Million Lawsuit

Hulk Hogan is suing for $100 million over the recent leak of his sex tape. His attorney David R. Houston said they're suing Gawker.com for $100 million in damages for leaking the sex tape footage. The damages sought from Bubba The Love Sponge & Heather Clem were not specified, but their actions were called "illegal, outrageous, and exceeded the bounds of human decency."

This could get ugly...

WWE News: Ryback vs. CM Punk Official

It was made official on Monday night's WWE Raw. In two weeks live on pay-per-view, it will be CM Punk defending his WWE Championship against Ryback.

Wow! John Cena must not be healthy enough to go. He all but "gave" the title match to Ryback. It is going to be VERY interesting to watch this battle...

NFL News: Ray Lewis Injury Update

The Ravens fear the worst for linebacker Ray Lewis. After suffering a torn tricep on Sunday, it looks like his season could be over. Being age 37, it could also signal the end of his Hall of Fame worthy career.

Honestly, this would be devastating. Just like Derek Jeter going down, it has to be crushing for a team to see their "leader" out for the season. There are sure to be plenty of updates on Lewis coming soon...

NFL News: Ravens CB Out For Season

Ravens cornerback Lardarius Webb has torn his ACL and will miss the remainder of the season.

Ouch! This NFL season has been filled with injuries. Good luck in your recovery!

Dusty Baker Staying With Reds

Dusty Baker will stay on with the Reds for two more years. He signed a two year extension to remain manager, according to the team.

Good move. Health issues or not, they fizzled out at the end of the season. However, he does deserves another year or two to improve on this year's success.

Raw-JBL Update

JBL noted today that he will NOT be on WWE Raw tonight.

He should make it for tomorrow's Smackdown taping though.

Velvet Sky - Wrestling Update

Gerweck is reporting that Velvet Sky is signing back with TNA. Of course, WWE can't hire any former/current TNA talent right now due to the ongoing TNA/WWE lawsuit.

That is just too bad. WWE can't touch anybody on the free agent market, so they are all likely to head (back?) to TNA on much lower offers and/or leverage. Terrible for the talent...

NFL Week 6: Broncos vs. Chargers Preview

I am going with the Denver Broncos here.

For some reason, I can't trust the San Diego Chargers anymore. They remind me of the Atlanta Falcons. obviously, the talent is there. The team has tons of great players.

I just can't trust them.

Peyton Manning? I can trust him. Healthy or not...old or not...talented or not...Broncos are my prediction tonight on ESPN. Let's say 35-28!

WWE Airing Rolling Stone Concert

According to Variety, WWE will be distributing a Rolling Stones concert in December. Not much is know right now.

This is interesting. I wonder how many fans will PAY for this event to view it. Of course, I also wonder how much money both sides are getting.

TNA: Aces and Eights Member Revealed

Devon returned to TNA and was unmasked as one of the Aces and Eights members. PWInsider reports that he is NOT the leader.

Yawn...They built up all this intrigue for months and months and months for Devon? For Devon? I know he is not the leader, but Bound for Glory is the biggest show of the year, and we got DEVON?! Unreal.

Devon Returns to TNA Impact Wrestling

Last night, Devon returned to TNA during Bound for Glory.

A little surprising. It was clear that he and Bully Ray would stay with TNA or BOTH head to WWE. Once one stayed, the other was destined to stay as well.

NFL Week 6: Packers/Texans Recap

As predicted, the Packers found a way to win. They took an early lead and never looked back.

Honestly, the Texans did not lose much here. They are now 5-1 and still one of the top NFL teams. The Packers, on the other hand, NEEDED this win.

It was clear from the beginning that they were the ones hungry and focused. Texans, win or lose, would be fine going forward. Pack had to get this road victory and did...

Backstage Tripe H - Stephanie McMahon News

According to F4Wonline, Triple H continues to be at every taping and most live events. At the same time, Stephanie McMahon has been at home raising their kids.

Seems logical enough. My guess is Steph shows up every now and then just to check everything out. Then it is back to raising the family at home.

NFL Rumor: Finley Playing Or Not?

Packers Jermichael Finley is a 50/50 shot based on how he responds during warmups. This is according to a CBSSports report this morning.

I THINK he will play, but this guy is unpredictable. With a few of his teammates out, this could be his chance to step up and show his loyalty to Green Bay.

NFL News: Raji Inactive For Tonight

According to CBSSports, Packers B.J. Raji will be inactive for tonight's game.

Uh oh! Not a good start to the morning...

MLB: Derek Jeter Breaks Ankle

Derek Jeter will miss the remaining post-season games for the New York Yankees. During last night's Game 1 loss in the ALCS to the Tigers, he broke his ankle.

Not only did New York lose the opening game of the series, they lost their heart and soul of the team. With most of their team struggling, not Raul Ibanez, SOMETHING has to give these guys a spark.

People can bash A-Rod all they want, but there are tons of Yankee players not hitting well right now. Without Jeter and his leadership on the field, this series may already be over...

NFL News: Bucs CB Suspended

Buccaneers CB Aqib Talib has been suspended four games for using Adderall. Here is part of his official statement from yesterday:

"Around the beginning of training camp, I made a mistake by taking an Adderall pill without a prescription"

He went on to apologize and own up to the suspension, which begins this weekend. Honestly, you have to respect him for be truthful about the situation, saying sorry and being straight forward about this.

Drew Brees: NFL 'Little Out Of Control'

Drew Brees was interviewed by Doug Farrar of Yahoo Sports Shutdown and had a few interesting remarks:

"From an experienced player's perspective, the NFL seems a little out of control right now, in the way it's being conducted and run from the top on down."

Wow! This guy just won't stop talking, huh? The league does seem a little "off" this year, but he certainly has a little bias in the situation.

Saturday, October 13, 2012

NFL Preview: Packers vs. Texans

A 2-4 team has never won the Super Bowl. The NFL is a wild and crazy environment, but those kind of stats do not lie.

If the Packers lose Sunday night, they drop to a 2-4 record. Going against the (hometown) Houston Texans will not be an easy feat either.

While Pack try to "find" themselves, the Texans are still undefeated this season. Being on Sunday night for a national viewing audience will only INCREASE the pressure on both sides.

With injuries hurting both teams this week, it will be an interesting game to watch. Now, the question is WHO ends up with the victory tomorrow night.

Logic says the Texans crush Green Bay and win big. However, I think the Pack have some fight left in them. Going for the upset, I will predict...

Packers 35 Texans 30

WWE Diva Beth Phoenix Update

Beth Phoenix is no longer advertised for any upcoming WWE events in 2012.

It has been rumored for weeks now that she is leaving the company. While ads can be wrong, this does seem to indicate her eventual departure.

NFL Rumor: Ndamukong Suh Being Sued

Nice play on words.

Ndamukong Suh has been cleared in his recent traffic accident. However, he is now being sued in a completely unrelated matter.

According to the Oakland Press, he owes Gregory and Lauren Packer $100,000 for a security deposit in relation to a home Suh rented out. True or not, this is just another negative story for the NFL star.

WWE: John Cena Reveals Future

John Cena tweeted the following today:

"Just finishing four hours of physical therapy. If @CMPunk chooses me @wwe ill be ready."

Of course, he had "minor" elbow surgery a few weeks ago. He was expected to miss about a month, so the time line is pretty close. We will know the story come Monday night on WWE Raw.

Potential HUGE WWE Spoiler

CM Punk told fans at last night's WWE live event that he would face John Cena at the upcoming pay-per-view event in two weeks.

I have no idea if this was him in character or just teasing fans. This Monday, we will find out the REAL answer. Either Punk will defend his WWE Title against Ryback or John Cena in two weeks.

MLB Rumor: K-Rod Arrested In September

According to CBS 58 in Milwaukee, Francisco Rodriguez was arrested in September for domestic violence. Apparently, this involved his girlfriend. It should be noted that no charges have been filed yet.

He was arrested in 2010 for an assault case. Being from Wisconsin, this won't change much in the MLB off-season. K-Rod can go find a new team, as his run with the Brewers started off well but tanked in 2012.

NFL News: Revis Surgery Update

Darrelle Revis will have surgery next Thursday for his ACL tear he suffered a few weeks ago. He will miss the remainder of the season.

There had been some small hope that he could return if the Jets made a playoff run. That is no longer possible, as Revis will be placed on injured reserve.

John Cena Injury News

According to F4Wonline, the recent injury to John Cena has caused a lot of stress for WWE creative.

Well, that goes without saying. Losing your TOP worker would be difficult in any profession.

MLB News: Melky Cabrera Reinstated

The Giants reinstated Melky Cabrera on Friday after serving a 50 game suspension. However, he will not be on the NLCS roster.

The team was in a tough spot here. They are doing great in the playoffs, but do they bring Cabrera back? Could he disrupt the momentum? Would he HELP the team? Very tricky situation.

TNA Hall of Fame Ceremony Tonight

Sting will be inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame tonight. He is the first inductee.

Honestly, I wish him well. He is a true icon in this business and worthy of any praise given to him. However, I doubt many people buy into a "TNA Hall of Fame" right now.

The Rock - CM Punk Twitter War

The Rock posted a picture of himself working out yesterday on Twitter while wearing a CM Punk t-shirt. He teased a future confrontation with him - #Rumble2013.

Punk responded: "I'm easy to find, Dewey."

NLCS Prediction: SF vs. STL

Wow!

What a round of MLB Playoffs so far! I can't imagine the NLCS topping what we just saw, but you never know is this league.

As for a winner, I want to pick the Giants. However, the Cardinals just keep on proving people wrong. Time and time again, they come through in clutch games. It almost makes you wonder what they could have done WITH Albert Pujols this season - just saying...

In the end, give me the Cardinals in six gamesI live in Wisconsin, so that won't go over very well, but how can you bet against them right now?

ALCS: Yankees vs. Tigers Prediction

For the record, my pre-season ALCS prediction was Angles over Tigers.

Thus, I have to follow that train of thought - Tigers lose.

It is not always the popular pick, but Yanks get my vote here. I love Detroit and the off-season moves that made. However, the Yanks are still the Yanks.

Friday, October 12, 2012

NLDS: Cards Shock The Nats

Wow.

The Cardinals are never done and out, are they? Yet again, they found a way to win and advance in the MLB Playoffs. Just ridiculous will these guys have...

The Nationals, at home, were leading 6-0 at one point Friday night. In the end, it did not matter. The Cards staged a huge rally in the 9th inning to escape with a Game 5 victory. Now, they face the Giants in the NLCS. while the Nats go home for the winter.

There will be two "controversial" side notes coming out of this game.

1. The Nats had what looked like a strike three call to win the game in the 9th inning. However, the ump called it a ball, and the inning continued. Of course, the Cards ended up taking the lead minutes later.

2. Stephen Strasburg! Sorry, but you know the topic is going to come up. I was not a fan of the Nats shutting him down from the beginning, and karma came back to bite them. Whether he would have made a difference or not, that decision will be questioned for years and years to come.
